Excavation works
Trench shoring:
- This is to be dimensioned for the maximum foreseeable loads in the most unfavourable conditions.
- Shoring has to be checked at the start of the working day; these preventive measures are to be maximized after work stoppages of more than one day or atmospheric alterations such as rain or freezing temperatures.
- Shuttering is to stick out 20 cm above the edge of the trench in order to act as a skirting board that prevents objects and materials from falling into the trench.
- In general, shuttering or part of it is to be removed only when it ceases to be necessary and in horizontal strips, starting from the bottom of the cut.
- “Use of the framework or shuttering itself by workers to get into or out of the trench is forbidden”.
