RISK FACTORS
- Walking on loose, irregular, muddy ground between objects or through narrow spaces.
- Working on wet surfaces.
- A lack of order and cleanliness on site:
- Possible obstacles in transit areas.
- Walking on rebar frameworks.
- Stepping on pointed objects.
- Stepping on loose fragments of wood.
- When knocking against objects on moving around inside the back of the truck when loading or unloading.
- When knocking against objects being displaced by cranes, truck-mounted cranes or tower cranes.
- When carrying out surveying work.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES
Rules for acting
- Keep the work area in due conditions of order and cleanliness.
- Avoid depositing objects in transit areas.
- Do not pile up materials in places of transit.
- At the end of the working day, spend some time gathering up surplus materials and equipment in the work area. If this is not possible, signpost the area.
- Spend part of the working day organizing and cleaning the store.
- Signpost all the cavities existing on site (floorings and trenches).
- As far as possible, avoid slippery floors (oils, grease).
- Remove waste daily, collecting this in suitable bins. Periodic removal of waste.
- Overhead electrical wiring is preferable.
- Sufficient lighting.
- Whenever possible, protect the corners and parts that may be sharp of parts or materials to be handled.
- Internal roadways are to be conserved, covering up potholes, removing soft material and compacting aggregates; mud is to avoided as far as possible in order to prevent accidents.
- Avoid handling moving loads transported by tower cranes, truck-mounted cranes or cranes.
- Those who carry out surveying tasks are to be well-informed of the hazards of the terrain and are to adopt the necessary precautions: pay the utmost attention to the places where they transit, trying to avoid stepping on obstacles or irregularities in the terrain, etc.
- Clear demarcation of work areas using cones or similar.

- Non-slip safety footwear with metallic inner soles.
