Signs

5. Signs SAT

5.1. Work Conditions

  • All work areas in an in-service HVS must be clearly signposted around the entire perimeter, with one or more clearly identifiable points of accesses (access must remain closed at all times, except when entering or leaving the precinct).
  • The ISASTUR Group shall always signpost a work area, unless the sigposting carried out by the client is equal or superior to what we could have done. Nonetheless, we shall always place a cone inside the work area and at least another two in the access to the work area. These two cones are to be joined by a chain from which a box containing the work permit is to be hung.

5.2. Demarcation of the work area and means of signposting

5.2.1. Access pathway to the work area

The demarcation of the work area is to be carried out by marking out the entire perimeter. To do so, cones, fences, stakes, the actual structure of the HVS, etc., can be used, in addition to red-white tape or chain. If tape is used, this has to be placed at 2 different distances.

1 cone/beacon of 1m in height is to placed within the work area with lettering on all its sides with the following legend: “work area”.

5.2.2. Work area entrance and exit

2 cones of 1 m in height are to be placed at the entrance/exit to the work area (access gate to the work area). A chain is to be hung between these cones, from which a sign (with a box) is to be hung.

The corresponding work permit (green card) is to be deposited in the box hanging from the chain until work has been completed.
