Risk Assessment: Works. Electricity Lines

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Rules for acting

  • Reconnecting the power supply:
This manoeuvre is only to commence once work has finished, after all the workers who are not essential have left the work area and all the tools and equipment used have been removed.
The steps to reconnect the power supply are: 1ª. Removal, should they exist, of additional protections and signs that indicate the limits of the work area.
2ª. Removal, should it exist, of the short-circuit to ground.
3ª. Unlocking and/or removal of the signs for cut-off devices.
4ª. Closing of the circuits to re-establish the power supply.
From the moment when one of the measures initially adopted to carry out work in the absence of voltage under safety conditions is suppressed, the part of the installation affected is to be considered live.
  • In work in the vicinity of live parts there must always be someone present with knowledge of electricity (Authorised/Qualified in keeping with Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001). In HV proximity work, there has to be a Preventive Resource figure present (minimum training: Basic Level in ORP). The client must request this type of work from the ISASTUR Group supervisor (not ask the worker directly to do it). Workers may only carry out this type of work with the approval of their supervisor.
  • Qualified/Authorised Workers (Spanish Royal Decree 614/01): work with an electrical hazard must be carried out and/or supervised by the qualified/authorised workers deemed proper, in accordance with the stipulations of Spanish Royal Decree 614/01 and ISASTUR procedures (see PC0712 and the corresponding Technical Instructions):

2. The carrying out of the different activities considered is to be done in accordance with the stipulations of the present Spanish Royal Decree.

DPROX-1 distance to the outer limit of the proximity zone when it is possible to precisely demarcate the work area and to establish controls that impede anyone from going beyond this limit during the carrying out of such work (cm).
DPROX-2 distance to the outer limit of the proximity zone when it is not possible to precisely demarcate the work area or to establish controls that impede anyone from going beyond this limit during the carrying out of such work (cm).
The distances for intermediate voltage values are to be calculated by linear interpolation.
