5. Relaxation Exercises

Sedentary life and working with VDUs produces postural and visual fatigue, the muscles, ligaments and spinal column being the most affected parts of the body.

An incorrect static posture that is maintained for a long time in the sitting position must be corrected immediately, as it will be the cause of diverse disorders in the spinal column, cervical pain and, occasionally, peripheral arterial insufficiency.

For this reason, it is convenient to carry out a series of relaxation exercises based on the part of the body that is the most tired, without any specific frequency but when the worker feels they are appropriate.

Relaxation Exercises 1.
Slowly lean your head backwards

Lower your chin towards your chest (as if nodding: YES… YES…)
Slowly turn your head to the right and to the left (as if shaking your head: NO… NO...)
Relaxation Exercises 2.
Slowly lean your head to the right and to the left (as if doubting: PERHAPS...) Raise your shoulders with your arms hanging down at the sides of your body

Lower your shoulders (as if you shrugging: I DON'T KNOW...)
Relaxation Exercises 3.
Place your hands on your neck with your back straight
Bend sideways from the waist and let your right and left arms fall in turn
Place your arms at the height of your chest with your elbows bent and one forearm over the other

Push your elbows backwards as far as you can

Back to where you started
Relaxation Exercises 4.
