SEPARATE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF WASTE IN THE BINS AND AREAS PROVIDED FOR THIS PURPOSE
BROWN BIN = HAZARDOUS WASTE

BLUE BIN = CLEAN PAPER AND CARDBOARD That which is not in good condition is to be deposited in the green bin. |

ADVICE REGARDING TRANSPORT
Avoid driving aggressively (speeding, accelerating or braking brusquely, etc.) or carrying unnecessary weight in the car. Use collective transport or share the vehicle whenever you can: you will save fuel and avoid CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. |
|
CONTROLLING CONSUMPTION
Switch off unnecessary lights : when you leave your workstation, when rooms, huts or toilets are not being used, etc.
Avoid wasting water: make sure you turn off the taps before leaving the toilets, etc. In your job, use only the water you need. |

INFORMATION OF INTEREST
Make good use of air conditioning, setting it at a suitable, healthy temperature (25ºC is recommended in the summer). A difference of more than 12ºC with respect to the outside temperature is not recommendable. Air conditioning should not be overused in the summer; besides the energy that it consumes, it releases a series of gases that contribute to the destruction of the ozone layer. Heating should be kept at 20ºC. Each additional degree produces an increase in energy costs of between 6 and 8%. To produce the paper that we consume, 2 trees need to be planted per person each year. When driving at a fast speed, a 20% increase in speed supposes a 44 % increase in fuel consumption. Manufacturing a drinks can from raw aluminium consumes 2.5 times more energy than when it is manufactured from recycled aluminium; greenhouse gas emissions also increase in the same proportion. Efficient driving, in conjunction with proper maintenance and not driving brusquely, can result in fuel savings of up to 15 %. In Spain, one ton of CDW (Construction and Demolition Waste) is generated per inhabitant per year, but less than 5 % is recycled or reused (in Holland the figure is 90%). |
