RISK FACTORS
- Moving vehicles and machinery, objects in the facilities, stockpiled materials.
- Collisions between machinery due to the lack of a person giving signals, lack of visibility, insufficient lighting or the lack of signposting.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES
Rules for acting
- Walk around the work area at a normal speed. Do not run on site.
- Works machinery is to respect site speed limits.
- Avoid depositing objects in transit areas.
- Keep the site tidy. Spend some part of the working day gathering up and putting each thing in its place.
- Sufficient lighting.
- Signposting of roads.
- Works machinery is to be equipped with intermittent lights and a reversing klaxon.
- A person giving signals is to be present in those manoeuvres that require one.
- Information prior to commencing work on the place where the work is to be done.
- Demarcation of the work area.
- Demarcation of the areas where personnel and machinery transit.
Personal protection
- Gloves, goggles and safety footwear (with metal toecaps).
