Workers Affected by Works Hazards

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Rules for acting

  • Access to service areas and enclosures of electrical material:
    1. Access to independent areas devoted to electrical services or to the carrying out of electrical trials or tests (generating stations, substations, transformation stations, control rooms or laboratories) is restricted to authorised workers or personnel that have been informed previously of the existing risks and the precautions to take and who are to remain under the permanent supervision of an authorised worker at all times. In addition to the aforementioned Authorised Worker, a Preventive Resource figure is to oversee such work at all times.
The doors to these areas are to be signposted indicating that unauthorised personnel are not allowed to enter. When there are no service personnel in the area, the doors are to remain locked so as to impede the entry of unauthorised personnel.
    2. The opening of cells, cabinets and other enclosures for electrical material is to be restricted to Authorised Workers.
    3. Access to areas and the opening of enclosures by Authorised Workers may only be carried out with the knowledge of and permission from the person responsible for the installation.
  • Use insulating tools (double insulation or grounding).
  • Keep wires and plugs in good condition.
  • The switchboard being worked on must have a current activated circuit-breaker.
  • No conducting element is to be worn in Contact with the body (watches, rings, chains, piercings, etc.).
  • To connect the wiring between photovoltaic panels and junction boxes, the wiring must be carried out from the GS boxes to the VS boxes and from the VS boxes to the panels, with the protective elements open to avoid summing voltages.
  • Maintain welding equipment in a good state of repair (cables, plugs, electrode holder and earth clamp).
  • Ground the welding set.

  • Helmet, safety goggles, dry work clothes, insulating boots, visor.
  • Insulating poles, mats and benches.
