RISK FACTORS

  • Vehicles, machinery in movement, machinery in automated installations (of the facilities themselves), piping, piles of materials, etc

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Rules for acting

  • Walk around the work area at a normal speed.
  • Avoid depositing objects in transit areas.
  • Keep the site orderly. Spend part of the working day gathering up and putting each thing in its place.
  • Sufficient lighting.
  • After using an overhead crane (belonging to the client), the hook is to be raised to a considerable height (> 2.5 m) to avoid knocking against it.
  • Information prior to commencing work on the place where the job is to be done.
  • Extreme care should be taken when handling the pulling and braking machine.

Personal protection

  • Safety footwear with metal toecaps.

RISK

90 Blows/cuts caused by objects or tools.

RISK FACTORS

  • When handling materials and using hand tools (radial cutters/grinders, drills, hammers, spanners, etc.), fixed electrical tools (drill presses, grinding stones, etc.) .
  • Failure of cables or securing elements slipping (conductor self-gripping clamps, sleeves, tensors, etc.).
  • During the trimming/cutting of wires.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Rules for acting

  • Use each tool only for the job it is designed for.
  • Specific implements that are suitable for the cross-section of the wires to trim are to be used to do so. Do not use knives, scissors or any other alternative tool.
  • Carry out maintenance of machinery and tools prior to the job.
  • Store and transport tools in an appropriate manner.
  • Keep tools well ordered.
  • Training in their use and information on their inherent hazards.
  • Use tools in a perfect state of repair, immediately replacing those that have deteriorated during work for others in good condition.
  • Whenever possible, protect the corners and parts that may be sharp of parts or materials to be handled.
  • Training of personnel in their handling.
  • Employ double retention and securing of conductors (double conductor self-gripping clamp).
  • Clamps are to be the appropriate ones so that the conductor does not fall.

Personal protection

  • Gloves, goggles and safety footwear (with metal toecaps).
