RISK FACTORS
- VMoving vehicles and machinery present on site (platforms, trucks, cranes, etc.).
- People getting knocked down due to reversing manoeuvres, lack of signalling, absence of a person giving signals, lack of visibility, narrow spaces.
- Personnel working within the radius of action of machine jibs or booms being knocked over.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES
Rules for acting
- Maintain the pertinent safety distances, respect signposting and demarcations if these should exist.
- Do not work within the radius of action of machinery and vehicles.
- Coordination of works among firms.
- Sufficient lighting.
- Works machinery is to be equipped with intermittent lights and a reversing klaxon.
- A person giving signals is to be present in those manoeuvres that require one.
- Information prior to commencing work on the place where the work is to be done.
- Demarcation of the work area.
- Demarcation of the areas where personnel and machinery transit.
- For vehicles and machinery entering and exiting excavations, a ramp is to be provided that has the lateral slope demanded by the type of ground and is to start with a longitudinal section of at least 6 m, its maximum inclination being 8% in bends and 12% on the straight sections. It is to have a minimum width of 4.5 m on the straight sections and a greater width on bends.
- Special attention is to be paid to the circulation of vehicles and machinery.
- Transit preferably within the areas delimited for that purpose, without invading those established for the circulation of vehicles. If these should not exist, always transit on the left.
- Complying with internal site regulations shall be mandatory.
- Drivers are to have the competent professional qualification and the corresponding driving licence.
- Respect the client’s internal road regulations (giving way, etc.).
Personal protection
- Reflective clothing if necessary.
- Helmet, goggles and safety footwear.
