Seeing as electricians may be affected by the high temperature of an accidental electric arc, their work clothes should be fireproof.
Work clothes should possess a thermal insulating capacity and a mechanical strength that is suitable to normal conditions of use. They should also possess a degree of inflammability corresponding to the type of hazard associated with the foreseeable conditions of use and must not melt if exposed to a flame, nor contribute to its propagation.
When working in settings where there is a risk of fire or explosion, this type of clothing must also be antistatic.
